Support during Lily’s life
During Lily’s short and influential life, we received support from the Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Program, independent music therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Some services were provided to us through not-for-profit funding, others were privately funded or partly funded by medicare.
We also received support from Very Special Kids. A children’s charity that helps families across Victoria who have a child with a life-threatening condition and terminal illnesses. Very Special Kids Hospice is the only children’s hospice in Victoria that offers families access to respite, as well as end-of-life care.
We aim to grant funds raised locally to local organisations working in the space, so that money that is raised in a specific area remains in the same state or country that it was raised. If you are interested in receiving a grant pr learning more about our grant program please contact us.
Our recent grant program
Most recently we provided a $10,000 grant to Very Special Kids. The funds will be used to support onsite family accommodation for families whose children are utilising respite or end of life care.
In 2017 we donated $1000 to Rainbow Place Hospice in New Zealand.
We look forward to including more of the very worthwhile organisations involved in children’s palliative care.
The Royal Children’s Hospital improves the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents through leadership in healthcare, research and education
Very Special Kids cares for children with life-threatening conditions by providing a children’s hospice and professional family support services.
Our fund would not be possible without the help of the Australian Communities Foundation. They provide individuals, families, groups and organisations with an easy
and satisfying way of giving back to the community that they care about. Please visit their site and contribute to one or more of their wonderful initiatives.
