Lily’s Sydney Fundraiser at Wylie’s Baths was a roaring success!
On 31 August 2019, 130 party goers and Lily Calvert Foundation Supporters headed to the spectacular Wylie’s Baths in Coogee.
A marquee perched above the beautiful tidal pools greeted guests who entered through an abundant archway of flowers put together by clever Rachel O’Donnell and donated in large part by Sydney florist, The Wilds.
With a 5 pm kick off, guests were treated to the view and Blood Orange Spritzers from Sofi Spritz on arrival. On entering the marquee the huge neon lights spelling out ‘LILY’, loaned to us by Glow Letter Company with a pink balloon installation from talented Love Floats, provided the perfect photo opportunity.
A side table held the silent and live auction items up for grabs and above this hung five stunning works of Art donated by Laura Wells.
Guests mingled and enjoyed canapés by Studio Neon including spanner crab sliders and duck pancakes, as well as a visual feast and grazing table by Bondi cafe Lox, Stock and Barrel. After a few rounds of Espresso Martinis donated by Cali Press Coffee and Chambers Cellars, everyone was in the mood to bid big in the auction.
There was an introduction and short speech by Will and Priyanka, and then it was over to James Dunn auctioneer from Richardson’s and Wrench Double Bay to warm up the crowd. The art work went in record time and for a record price reaching a total over $5000. The signed AFL Sydney Swans football and Australian cricket bat were also hotly contested. By the end of the night not a single item in the silent or live remained.
We are thrilled to say that the event raised over $16k. This money will be used to support families of children with life limiting illnesses and research on better support for families. What a night. We cant wait until next year!
